AB Steele’s Shipboard Journal – 23 April 1886

This is Good Friday and we had a little treat each receiving a hot cross bun. Things are as dull as yesterday, not even sighting a ship.

The Irish Jubilee Singers gave a concert in the 1st saloon. They had given concerts in all the large Towns in England and were on their way to Australia. This being Good Friday  there were of course no games or tea parties. Things seem very monotonous nothing but water to be seen. A good many of the passengers wish they were at home: but they are mostly what I call quick drivers I.E. Clerks, ETC.

Distance 325 miles.
