Discovery Day – the changing ways we research family and local history

Come to any or all sessions on the day!

10 am to 11 am : Online videos for family history : Jan will take us on a tour of some of her favourites, (including YouTube) that have helped her achieve her family history research goals.

11 am to 12 pm : South Africa & India : Online records for British ancestors who came to, or left Australia via other commonwealth countries such as South Africa and India.

12 pm to 1 pm : Lunch : BYO – tea and coffee available all day.

1 pm to 2 pm : Then & Now of Casey Cardinia : Join us as we explore the changes to some prominent sites within the Casey Cardinia area.

2 pm to 3 pm : Changing landscapes : Landscapes change over time. Maps, aerial photos and street directories give us a better understanding of where our ancestors lived. With Map Warper, we can identify properties from parish plans and try to identify locations from aerial photographs taken in the 1970s.
