What’s in a name? If it’s a name from around Berwick, Neil Lucas will probably know. He has a long history in local government, being the former Chief Executive of the City of Berwick, then councillor and Mayor of the City of Casey in 2004-5.
Neil has also served on many local community trusts and boards throughout the years. To name just a few, there’s the Berwick and Harkaway Cemetery; Berwick Mechanics Institute Library, Berwick Show Society, Berwick Primary School, St Margaret’s School and Narre Warren Rotary.
A keen local historian, Neil has produced books on the history of the Berwick Anglican Church and Akoonah Park, but many of us know him through the What’s in a name? column until recently, published in the Berwick-Pakenham Gazette.
Neil’s presentation will commence at 2 pm, followed by a short break where members and friends can grab a cuppa or speak to Neil. A short business meeting will then conclude the afternoon’s proceedings.
Visitors are always welcome, there’s no need to book.
