Today we have the sad task of informing members that Wendy’s long struggle with cancer ended last night (11th May, 2014).

Wendy Brock joined the Narre Warren & District Family History Group in 2007 and quickly established herself as a valuable and popular member of the Group. Apart from serving as Membership Officer between 2008 to 2012 Wendy also held the positions of Sausage Sizzle Co-Coordinator and Casey Cardinia Local History Reference Group delegate. Wendy also volunteered her time doing duty in the Research Room and introduced quite a few new members to us during her successful Seniors Week workshops.

Wendy was a delightful person to work with, she had a cheerfully cheeky smile and a wonderful sense of humor. She was also an extremely talented artist.

We won’t finish this tribute with RIP for we can see Wendy running around Heaven with paper and pencil finally finding the answers to all those family history questions as she interviews a long line of ancestors.

We will miss her greatly.

Goodbye Wendy I will miss you and our chats in the room when we were on duty together and we did not have any visitors. There were once three Wendy’s on the committee and we came up with B.E.G. for Brock, Eldridge & Goodwin. You were a great friend.

  2. Wendy was always smiling. You could even hear her smile when on the phone. She made a great contribution to our family history group.
She deserves to meet some of those elusive ancestors and receive some answers to the questions she has been asking for years.
    I will miss you Wendy.

  4. Wendy you were always so helpful and encouraging in helping others find their ancestors, I hope you meet some of your ancestors that you have struggled to find over these years, maybe even do some drawings of them.
