Join us on a walk through the beautiful and historic Lang Lang Cemetery as we explore its connections with the Great War. Forty-eight families watched, waited and worried for 98 men who enlisted and tried to make it safely back home. Twenty-four made the supreme sacrifice; 15 were killed in action on the battlefields of the Western Front, 2 were killed at Gallipoli, 6 died of their wounds and 1 died during training at the Seymour Camp. Clay Kruger from the Wendish Heritage Society will be our guest speaker in November.   He will be presenting history from the fifth century of the Wends in Eastern Germany about their Ancestry, migration of their forbears from Hamburg, Germany to Australia from the 1830s focusing on Australian settlement. He will share with his first hand experiences of the time and the story of his research into the history of the site which led him to locate and recover 51 sets of executed prisoners' remains, including those of Ned Kelly (11 Nov 1880) and Ronald Ryan (3 Feb 1967), the last person to be executed in…
