Peace at last: a World War 1 Walk in Lang Lang Cemetery

October 14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us on a walk through the beautiful and historic Lang Lang Cemetery as we explore its connections with the Great War.

Forty-eight families watched, waited and worried for 98 men who enlisted and tried to make it safely back home. Twenty-four made the supreme sacrifice; 15 were killed in action on the battlefields of the Western Front, 2 were killed at Gallipoli, 6 died of their wounds and 1 died during training at the Seymour Camp. While most of the men were single, nine men were married with families.
Twenty-seven Lang Lang families sent two or more sons. Forty-seven men were wounded and hospitalised, nine were wounded at least twice. One wounded soldier became a German prisoner of war. One soldier died at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.

Each one has a story worth telling, and so do their families.

Tea and coffee at the end of the tour. Bookings essential.
